The CMS Group | Multiple Construction Environments

Our regional construction companies have many individual talents.  They promote their preferences based on their skill level, available labour, plant equipment, technology, materials, financial liquidity and their ability to bring other independent specialists to the table, often with little or no breadth of experience of the contract type at hand.

The CMS Group has taken a different approach.

The Islands of the Caribbean, and for that matter South and Central Americas coastal areas have multiple construction environments, often unfavourable climatic conditions, topographical and marine challenges.

Since its inception, CMS mixed marine and onshore construction work, using fresh science and technology to build an impressive portfolio of coastal contracts which took these multiple construction environments into account.  We made a conscious effort to blend environmental awareness with better science, to resolve erosion and decay challenges, while preserving the wealth of nature and beauty around the building solution.

We often say that we are foundation specialists.  That’s because we analyse from the basis of the project, do our work, and find the most environmentally friendly, cost effective, durable and sustainable answers, often to extremely difficult questions.

Offshore, onshore, inshore, never seems to
confound our now seasoned group of thinkers, planners and doers.

CMSCS our seasoned construction professionals have resolved property loss and property gain with vinyl sheet and DIP piling, built swing bridges over canals, recreated resort beaches and built revetments to stop ocean encroachment.  Our work with hotel resorts in St. Lucia and St. Kitts, alone are a testament to our ability to protect and secure our island assets.

Our foundation work in Guyana paved the way for Exxon Mobil’s new head quarters, on time and very much on budget.

Our development arm COASTAL DESIGN BUILD in the Turks
& Caicos Islands, in conjunction with Smith Warner International Engineers is in the process of constructing the innovative South Bank residential and marina development, at Providenciales.

Here we have a multitude of construction difficulties, underscored by the endless sand of TCI.

CMS, our marine company life-saves sunken yachts, dives to install replacement valves in the seabed, creates better anchorage and pumping for molasses tankers for a local rum distillery and, amongst many other tasks, installs Manta Ray anchors, to create easily accessible moorings in high risk eco friendly environments throughout the Tobago Keys.

With ATI, our barge haulage partners, we offer our Crane Barge operation, for coastal construction within the region and South America.  We also have a refurbished landing craft and spud barge, for marine construction operations and dredging in TCI.

In short, our portfolio of success is comprehensive. Our breadth of knowledge, capability
and application, considerable.

The CMS Group are a key component to any successful, cost effective building project in the region, and as such, we look forward to a bright and innovative future for the Caribbean construction industry and further developing our role in this evolution.
